Thomas Emmerson

I studied marketing and business management in the UK before working in PR and event management at Aston Martin. This was followed by a period at Honda's European head office working in product marketing for the motorcycle division launching the brand's two-wheeled range across 20+ countries.

Upon moving to New Zealand, I began sales and marketing training working closely with businesses to develop their teams, especially in the emerging field of digital marketing. In 2015, I founded Vanguard 86 to meet the needs of businesses seeking to harness the power of digital marketing, but without the internal resources to do so.

Since then, we have become a HubSpot Platinum Partner agency and one of the leading inbound marketing firms in New Zealand. We received an honourable mention in the 2017 HubSpot Impact awards and were highly commended in both the Australasian catalogue awards and the TSB Business Excellence awards in 2017.  We then went on to win bronze at the 2018 New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards and then came home with silver at the same event in 2019.

I'm passionate about accountable marketing that increases sales opportunities and drives business growth and educating sales teams on harnessing content marketing to become a valued and trusted advisor in the sales process.
