Can Endless Customers help you get more AI recommendations?

The Endless Customers System™ was built to make you the most known, trusted, and recommended business in your market. The strategies that brought human traffic to your website can help you build an online presence that AI loves to recommend. Here's what this article will cover:

  • Why AI rewards the same trust signals Endless Customers has always taught
  • What has actually changed since AI entered buyer research
  • Why The Big 5 topics matter even more now
  • Where to start if you want AI to recommend you over your competitors

Can Endless Customers actually help you get recommended by AI? Or has the strategy that worked for years quietly become another casualty of how fast search is changing?

You already know AI is reshaping how buyers find businesses like yours. You've watched it start recommending some companies over others, and you want to be the one it points to.

What you don't have is a clear sense of what actually gets you there, and after watching one platform update after another reshuffle the rules, it's fair to wonder whether anything you build today will still hold up in two years, or if it's just another quick fix with an expiration date.

At IMPACT, we've spent more than a decade coaching companies through the Endless Customers System™, built on a simple idea: businesses that answer buyer questions honestly earn trust, and trust is exactly what AI tools are now trying to identify.

This isn't a workaround for the AI moment. It's the same durable strategy that has always worked.

Why I still believe in Endless Customers, even with AI in the picture

I have coached more than a hundred companies through the Endless Customers System, and I have not had to throw out a single principle because of AI. What changed is the audience reading your content first.

You're still trying to earn trust before you have the chance to talk to your buyer. And the things that earn trust are the same as always: honesty, evidence, and a willingness to answer the questions everyone else in your industry avoids.

As experts, we operate at an eight, nine, or ten out of ten level of sophistication in our own industry, every single day. It's the curse of knowledge most businesses have (ourselves included!).

We can't forget that buyers are usually starting much earlier than that. Often they do not even know what solution to search for yet, they are just describing a symptom or a frustration.

That gap is exactly where Endless Customers has always lived, and it is exactly where AI is now looking for answers too.

What trust signals is AI looking for?

AI tools recommend businesses using the same signals ("green flags") humans have always used to decide who to trust: complete and consistent information, honest reviews, and real evidence that you are who you say you are. None of that is new. It is just being read by a different audience now.

When I audit a client's trust footprint, I am looking at the same handful of things:

  • Reviews, and just as important, how the business responds to the negative ones
  • Directory and Google Business Profile consistency, so there is no question the business is real and local
  • Video that shows actual people and actual work, not stock photography
  • Community involvement and press mentions, which I am seeing come back in a real way as trust signals

An AI tool is not inventing what it thinks buyers want to know. It is reflecting back what real buyers have needed to know for years. Build for one, and you are building for both.

What types of content are most important to get AI recommendations and citations?

We've always taught that there are five main types of content that buyers are searching for: cost, comparisons, reviews, problems, and best-in-class articles. They aren't always the easiest topics for businesses to address, but they are the questions buyers want answered.

AI didn't change that. If anything, it made these topics even more important.

We've found the more you avoid tough topics like pricing for your goods and services, the less likely AI is to recommend you. AI is evaluating your willingness to be transparent about every aspect of your business before making a recommendation.

The businesses that were writing about cost and comparisons back in 2016 are still winning that game. The ones embracing how buyers use AI tools today are the ones who will win the next round.

Even though we've been doing this for over a decade, I still hear the same objections:

"If we write about our weaknesses, aren't we just handing business to a competitor?"

My answer hasn't changed either. Someone is going to answer that question for your buyer. It might as well be you.

Being the first and most honest is what actually earns the recommendation now, whether that recommendation comes from a person or from an AI tool.

What actually changes to your marketing strategy when you consider AI

Publishing cadence or quantity is no longer the differentiator. Any competitor can generate fifteen articles in an afternoon with the same AI tools you have access to. But it never was about quantity, so much as quality.

That quality comes from your team's unique expertise. Your subject matter experts, the technician who has solved the same problems five hundred times, the salesperson who hears the same objection every week...they all know things a generic AI tool cannot manufacture on its own.

Content like that becomes the source AI pulls from, but it demonstrates real experience it doesn't have. It positions you as the experts, and you become the cited and recommended brand for your industry.

Does "being more human" matter if AI is making all the recommendations?

"Be more human" is one of The 4 Pillars of a Known and Trusted Brand. And it's easy to forget that when 80% of the buying process is happening before buyers ever talk to a salesperson. Plus, if AI is making all the recommendations, do we still need that human factor?

The 4 Pillars of a Known and Trusted Brand | Endless Customers-3Absolutely! The strategy isn't to set up your entire business for AI, by AI, but to build a brand that is indisputably trusted by AI and then align your buying process with how buyers buy today.

Gartner reports that 67% of B2B buyers prefer a seller-free experience, but buyers still turn to sellers for confirmation of their decisions. “Buyers still turn to sales reps to validate AI-generated insights, and support decision-making at critical moments in the journey,” says Robert Blaisdell, VP Analyst, Chief of Research in the Gartner Sales practice.

The principles behind Endless Customers, like Assignment Selling, teach you exactly how to meet buyers where they are and help your sales team show up in a way that other brands won't.

The wins that come from being more human

Here's an example of a client of mine who proved this simply. Instead of publishing more content, one rep started sending a short, personal video ahead of every appointment, addressing the specific concerns for that job.

This massively improves the buying experience over a generic email. They were watching a real person speak directly to their situation before they ever met in person. That gave the rep a 95 percent video open rate, a close rate above 60 percent, and the highest average ticket size on the team.

How do you build a brand AI keeps recommending?

Every piece of trust you build stacks on top of the last one. Every honest answer, every review you respond to, every video that shows your actual team compounds. What you start building today is one step ahead of your competitors.

That is exactly why this still works in an AI-first world, maybe even more so now. AI is not evaluating you in a single moment. It is pulling from a pattern of evidence that only builds if you keep doing the work, month after month.

IMPACT CEO Bob Ruffolo put it this way, "What we're doing with clients is helping them separate from their competitors and gain more AI visibility. Some of them have started calling that a moat, because this isn't a tactic you turn on and forget about. It's a journey. You keep strengthening those five components until you build something competitors can't penetrate, because you're already the leader in AI visibility."

Bob Ruffolo and I dig into this idea and where it came from on the Endless Customers podcast. It's worth hearing how we think about what building that moat could do for your business.

So, is Endless Customers still the right investment?

Can Endless Customers still get you recommended by AI? Yes, without hesitation. The entire system was built on the one thing that never goes out of style: being the business people trust enough to recommend, whether that recommendation comes from a neighbor, a Google review, or an AI tool doing the same job humans have always done.

None of this requires you to abandon what you've already built. It requires you to be more honest about pricing, more visible about your process, more consistent about showing up as real people, and more disciplined about doing it long after it stops feeling new. That is the whole system: The Big 5, the trust signals, the written and video content, the coaching, all pointed at the same target.

This is the work we do inside the Endless Customers coaching program with over 300 companies, and it's the same work our coaches do every day: sit inside a business, find where trust is leaking, and rebuild it into something that compounds.

You do not need another tool. You do not need to wait for the next platform update to figure out what to do next. You need a system, and you need someone in your corner who has already done this. If you are ready to stop wondering whether AI will recommend you and start building the proof that it will, reach out to our team to start the conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Endless Customers

Can Endless Customers help my business get recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT?

Yes. Endless Customers is built around answering buyer questions honestly and building a visible, verifiable trust footprint, which is the same criteria AI tools use to decide which businesses to recommend.

What is the difference between traditional SEO and getting recommended by AI?

Traditional SEO focuses on ranking a web page in a list of results. Getting recommended by AI depends on whether your content, reviews, and overall online presence give an AI tool enough evidence to trust and cite your business directly, often without a click to your site at all.

Do I need to change my content strategy to show up in AI search results?

You need to strengthen it, not reinvent it. The same honest, specific content that has always built buyer trust, especially around cost, comparisons, and problems, is what AI tools are pulling from when they decide who to recommend.

What are AI trust signals, and how does Endless Customers help build them?

AI trust signals are the pieces of evidence, like reviews, directory consistency, video, and community presence, that show an AI tool your business is credible. Endless Customers coaches companies to build all of these deliberately, rather than leaving them to chance.

Is Endless Customers still relevant now that buyers use AI instead of Google?

Yes. Endless Customers was built on the idea that buyers trust businesses that answer their questions openly. That principle applies whether the buyer is reading your website directly or asking an AI tool to summarize it for them.
