Conquering Writer's Block, Social Voting, & Prospects Who Haggle!

Look, I'm a good citizen. I understand that voting this past Tuesday was important for our country and stuff.

But there's still an eensy weensy, tin-foil-hat-wearing part of me that's convinced the intersection of Election Day and social media is really just a big fat conspiracy perpetrated by a nefarious "I Voted!" sticker organized crime syndicate.

There's no evidence to back it up, I know. But there's no evidence to prove me wrong either. 🤐

Here's The Latest ...

Kiss Writer's Block Goodbye with These 68 Fresh Blog Topic Ideas

Have you ever sat down at your computer knowing you need to write a blog post, but you can't seem to mentally will an idea -- good or bad -- of what you should write about into existence? Psh, that's never happened to me; I'm too awesome for that. But let's say, hypothetically, I could relate to how you're feeling. I'd probably want to read through this comprehensive list I put together of 68 blogging prompts across a wide range of topic areas.

What We Can Learn from Social Networks & the Midterm Election

While there may not be a conspiracy afoot, you can't deny that Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat did a fantastic job enabling users to create a social moment out of voting this past Tuesday. "But Another Agency Said They Can Do It Cheaper..."

Hearing this kind of pushback from a prospect can be frustrating, but they might just need to be educated on the value of services you're providing to them. On the other hand, their price-haggling might be an indicator they're not the right fit for your agency. Should you let them walk away and go to the cheaper option? Jason Swenk says, "Maybe." Read Jason's article on how to handle the most common sales objection agencies face -- price.

OK, one last request before I get to work. I want you to reply to this email with your answer to this question:

What's the best piece of advice you've gotten for getting over writer's block?

Mine is from an English teacher. She said, "Write something -- anything -- down. Seriously, just one awful sentence that's marginally related to the topic. You'd be surprised how little you need to get over the blank screen hump."

No joke, her trick totally works.

I'll share my favorite answers from you all next week!
