HubSpot Strategy - Shorten The Sales Cycle
This week Marcus talks about using content to shorten the sales cycle. Also not only can it be shorter but it can be easier as well. George quotes the famous words of his Grand Pappy, "Work smarter not harder". Make your content do the heavy lifting for you.
HubSpot Updates
(Each week on the Hubcast, George and Marcus will be looking at HubSpot's newest updates to their software. And in this particular episode, we'll be discussing 2 of their newest updates)
Simple Menus
A new feature in the COS makes creating navigation menus on pages much, much simpler.
What is it?
The simple menu is a module type that can be added to any page template. It allows you or anyone editing a page to quickly and easily build out a menu for that page and set the orientation of the menu to horizontal or vertical. Using the style tab you can also set basic style characteristics for your menu.
Why is it useful?
Some pages require secondary navigational menus or a different menu than your main website navigation. This makes those menus easy to build and style on the fly from right within the page. No need to go to to site maps or the template file.
Does this replace a site-map?
No, you'll still be able to make a site map and main navigation menu, this is just an additional option at the template/page level. It's ideal for secondary navs or landing page navigation.

Email Resubscribe Form Integration
Have you ever unsubscribed from email communications and then realized you actually do want to stay in the loop with a company or brand? With this new update, the process to resubscribe a contact is completely automated. To set this up, navigate to Content Settings > Email> Resubscription Settings. You will see the option to enable resubscription email - check that. Then you can create or edit the resubscribe email. Your email will have pre-populated text including the personalization tag you need to send the email.
The next time your contact fills out a form when they have unsubscribed, they will see a notification letting them know that they have unsubscribed but have the option to resubscribe. They will then receive your email with instructions on resubscribing.
HubSpot Wishlist
Marcus: I wish the HubSpot pricing structure was not so confusing. Even people that deal with it every day sometimes have a hard time explaining it to potential and current clients.
George: Hey HubSpot, please add flexible columns to the blog templates design area. Please... : (
