Hubcast 203: Ticket Stages, Holiday Marketing, & the Beauty of Being in the Same Room

Hubcast 203: Ticket Stages, Holiday Marketing, & the Beauty of Being in the Same Room

This episode of the Hubcast is brought to you by Verblio.

We start with something timely for week: marketing during the holidays. Is it okay to send marketing emails on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc?

Should we be publishing Hubcast episodes the week of holidays? (i.e. the one we’re doing right now?!)

Property of the Week: Ticket Property Series

Default Ticket Stages

  • Initial Inquiry
  • Rep Assigned
  • Waiting on Client Response
  • Waiting on Internal Response
  • Resolved
  • Closed - Needs Further Review

Just like with deal stages, we need to think strategically and big picture about our ticket stages!

(I know this isn’t technically a property - but it’s worth mentioning in this series!)

What’s on Marcus’ Mind

Marcus has workshops on the mind. What is it about getting your whole team in the same room together for a chunk of time that's so magical?

HubSpot Wishlist: Timing Specifications for Chat Launcher

“I'd prefer to be sending visitors trigger messages when they have been engaging on a specific webpage, say they have been on the page for more than 1 minute, the message appears.” - MandyMc

Vote it Up!

Nowadays with cookie consent banners, lead flows and videos, chat can easily become a user experience trust eroder. We need the ability to delay chat popping up when there’s other popups!

This Episode’s Sponsor: Verblio

Verblio creates content to power inbound marketing, and they're excited to show you what they can create for your audience, or your clients'.

With their simple HubSpot integration you can get your content ported straight from Verblio into a HubSpot blog draft!

I recently sat down with Verblio CEO Steve Pockross to pick his brain on the motivation behind their total rebrand from Blogmutt, and how they’re doing content creation differently.

HubSpot Updates

Announcing the New VP of Global Partner Strategy & Operations

“We’re thrilled to announce that Katie Ng-Mak has been promoted to VP of Global Partner Strategy and Operations. She will lead our efforts to support, grow, and evolve the program."

This announcement isn't necessarily a huge deal, but it does highlight the continued focus and effort on the HubSpot Partner program. If you're a partner, don't be surprised if you see some new program changes in the near future!

Upcoming Changes to Webhooks in Workflows

“First, moving forward, secure (https) URLs will be required. URLs that use http will no longer be supported. (Not familiar with https? Read this) Workflow webhook actions send information from the contact profile over the internet. As such, it’s important to make sure this information is secure and not at risk. Moving to https URLs ensure the security of your customers’ data at all times.

Second, the GET method will no longer be supported; moving forward webhooks will only be able to use POST. In full transparency, GET webhooks in Workflows are used by less than 3% of Workflows users, and feedback on their value has been mixed; often, the GET method doesn’t do what our users expect, because HubSpot doesn’t handle any returned data.

On December 17, these two features (http and "GET" support in webhooks) will be removed. From that date forward, webhook actions with either http or GET will be skipped, and will display a validation error on the action, as well as a message on the Workflows history page reflecting the error.”
